Subconscious Moments – Minami Coirin
Everyday we pass millions of objects that subconsciously reflect impressions upon us, but no thoughts are given to them. Sometimes we become so accustomed to our every day habits that we lose our sense of curiosity and intrigue about the world around us. My project sparked interest while I was in Europe and started noticing the intricacies and personalities behind doorbells; the story behind a physical object that is almost invisible in our every day lives. Utilizing techniques such as creating depth, focusing aperture, and framing I captured photos of doorbells throughout Europe and back in the states when I returned. This collection represents the most intriguing doorbells I captured, the ones that made me pause and think; Who has been here? Who lies beyond the doorbell? And what is their story?
