Our Team

 A note from our founder:

Transforming Moments from dream to reality has been a group effort, but my idea for the organization first came from my experiences with one person—my friend Anna. Anna was preparing for a trip to South America and asked me for some photography advice. I spent the next two weeks excitedly teaching her some photography fundamentals and gave her two disposable cameras for her trip so she’d have to make each exposure count. A few weeks later she returned with photos that were not only impressive, but inspirational; I realized that sharing the gift of self expression means giving people a stronger voice and an opportunity to share their most valued moments with others.

I started thinking about how I could combine my love of photography with my passion for helping others, and the idea for Moments began to take shape. I talked with friends and mentors and developed the idea for a free after school program to teach high school students photography. One friend was particularly touched by the idea and helped me build the foundation for Moments by coming up with a name and designing a website for me. From there, momentum started to build and more and more people became involved.

I am honored that my friends helped inspire and build Moments, and I look forward to having more people join us on our mission to give every student access to photography and creativity, opening their eyes, expanding their perspectives, and amplifying their voices.
