Labor Day Photowalk Recap

Posted by

Moments’ mission to “provide free photography education for all” was taken beyond the classroom to the field last Labor Day during their Photowalk event in Manhattan. The participants were invited to partake in a three-hour photowalk that began in Bryant Park, followed into the west side of Manhattan, and finalized at the High Line. The photowalkers were assigned themes from an earlier blog post, 10 Ideas To Boost Your Photo Creativity (e.g., monochrome shots, “view from the ground,” “frame within a frame”), to exclusively shoot, interpret their own way, or switch up with other motifs. The hands on experience allowed people to experiment with shooting something new and different, and personally interact with those involved with the project. The event concluded with a social at the Chelsea Market Concourse and The Coffee Shop Restaurant at Union Square. Students were encouraged to showcase their photos on Moments’ “Student Work” portfolio, and to stay involved for future photowalks that would be created by project members.  Come join Moments for their next event by signing up for their mailing list where you can stay up-to-date with Moments’ happenings!
